Joe Fidler

My lessons are engaging, due to my background I am able to offer help throughout the entirety of the GCSE and A-level geology courses. I use past exam papers, model answers and examiner feedback to help ensure you get as many marks as possible, including ones that are dropped by a lot of students. I will help to support classroom teaching, build confidence in geology and gain passion for the subject.

I am able to offer help on transferable content, including statistical testing, data interpretation, exam skills, maths skills for scientists and fieldwork support.

Having spent time in the Scottish Highlands, Pembrokeshire and the Yorkshire Dales on fieldwork, during my degree and A-level study, I am understand the value of it, and how it can be challenging. I can support learning in the field by answering any queries, explanation of how to take measurements, collect data, make observations and instilling good working practice which can is useful for a career in geoscience!

Additionally, I have spent countless hours in practical sessions, where I am confident in helping to teach basic data processing, geological mapping and evaluating real-world case studies. This experience will support students with both practical fieldwork elements of the course.

I aim to make my tutoring accessible for any geology student by creating a positive and encouraging environment where they are comfortable to ask questions and grow in the subject.
