I am a Master's Physics graduate (Class One Honours) looking to offer maths and physics tutoring to GCSE and A-level students. I bring 5 years of academic learning and problem solving experience and an excellent academic track record to help students develop their ability and confidence in these subjects.
Not every student learns in the same way and not every student learns best in a classrom enviornment. I will tailor each lesson to the individual student's learning needs or preferences. I am happy to help each student with specific areas to develop of theirs, or general topics to cover. My lessons will change to suit each student's needs, but could look like:
- General content classes in which the student may want to take notes, or just listen.
- Classes in which the student is free to ask questions and for clarification.
- Problem solving classes where the student and I work through problems together, these can be requested by the student or more generally chosen.
- I will do my best to provide the student with my own summary notes after each lecture, with pointers identifying where they have improved, and where still needs some development.
My aim is to help students reach their potential and improve their confidence in these subjects. I believe that it is important for students to develop an understanding of these topics, not just be able to perform well in exams. I also strive to encourage students to be curious and to ask questions and not be afraid of getting things wrong. I believe getting things wrong and asking others for help is a fast-track way to improve understanding.
Learning goes both ways, and I am eager to improve my own tutoring and communication, alongside getting to know each student.
