Hello! My name is Joe and I am an experienced tutor in biology and chemistry. I've tutored dozens of students through high school in the United States and I'm looking forward to meeting new students in the UK! I'm currently pursuing my Masters of Research in biosciences at UCL and I graduated top of my class from the university of Minnesota with a B.S. in genetics and cell development. I hope to be a professor one day which is why teaching young students is important to me

I have an in depth knowledge of advanced concepts in both biology and chemistry so each of our lessons will be personalised to your current level and I'm always open to finding new methods of teaching so your potential is maximised. I prefer to tutor in person to have a dynamic relationship with my students but I provide online lessons as well. A typical lesson is built around any content that has been covered in class recently and I try to engage the student with the material by going over anything they need additional support with or a holistic review. One of my most successful lesson formats is engaging the student with questions and provide them with support to find the answer on their own. Of course, if there is coursework involved or points on the line we will strive for the best mark possible before expanding into a deeper understanding.

I believe a passion for biology is important for success in the classroom so I will aways incorporate real life examples to demonstrate how the concepts in their course are applied to cutting edge research and therapies.
