My lessons are practical, conversational and tailored to each student’s goals. I want you to feel comfortable using Korean in real situations, rather than simply memorising vocabulary or grammar. Depending on your level and interests, we can focus on everyday conversation, pronunciation, vocabulary, reading, writing, or a combination of these.
I like to use real-life situations, topics you are genuinely interested in, and natural expressions that Korean people actually use. For example, we might practise ordering food, travelling in Korea, talking with friends, or discussing Korean culture and everyday life. I can also explain the cultural context behind certain words and expressions, including the differences between formal and casual Korean.
At the beginning, I’ll take time to understand your current level, what you find difficult and what you would like to achieve. From there, we can build lessons around your needs and adjust the pace and content as you progress.
My professional background is in design and research, where I’ve spent years listening to people, understanding different needs, facilitating discussions and communicating ideas clearly. I’ve also worked extensively in collaborative teams, so I’m comfortable adapting the way I communicate to different personalities.
I bring that same approach to my lessons: structured but flexible, patient and supportive. I want you to feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes and gradually building confidence in Korean at a pace that works for you, while enjoying the process. Most importantly, I want each lesson to feel useful, enjoyable and relevant to how you want to use Korean.
