My lessons are structured to be clear, focused, and tailored to each student’s needs. I usually begin by checking what you already know and understand—this helps us build on your strengths and identify any gaps in knowledge. From there, we cover the content you're less confident with, using straightforward explanations, diagrams, and real-life examples to make things easier to grasp.
Once we've covered the material, I use spaced repetition to help reinforce key concepts over time, which is a proven method for improving long-term memory and recall. I also integrate exam-style questions regularly, so you become comfortable with how to apply your knowledge in an exam setting and understand what examiners are looking for.
Lessons are interactive and engaging—I encourage questions, discussions, and active thinking rather than passive note-taking. Whether you’re aiming for top grades or just trying to feel more confident with biology, I’ll adapt the pace and style to suit your learning needs.
I use my extensive neuroscience and psychology knowledge to ensure the most effective ways to study are utilised. I don’t just tutor but I teach HOW to study and allow a students natural cognitive abilities to work for them instead of against them. Part of my studies within my undergraduate degree studying neuroscience at the University of St Andrews looks at the psychology of studying and I plan to implement the findings in my teachings. I have not been out of secondary school for long and so still have fresh knowledge of what it’s really like being a gcse and A level student so I teach with lots of empathy and understanding.
