My lessons are fully tailored to each student’s goals and current level. I begin by identifying areas for improvement, whether that’s essay structure, textual analysis, or exam technique (based on what their exam board is) and then create personalised lessons to target those skills. I aim to make my sessions as engaging and friendly as possible to ensure students feel comfortable to contribute their ideas and demonstrate their best effort. I provide guided analysis and clear feedback after moments of independent practice. With experience tutoring GCSE and A-Level students, I focus on building both skills and self-belief so students can achieve their full potential.

Jess is an amazing tutor. She was able to help me pinpoint exactly where I was struggling and set out a way to improve it immediately. After struggling with English Literature A-Level, she was able to help me achieve 3 grades higher than my predicted grade. Could not recommend her more

I don’t know where to start. Perhaps I’ll start with the fact she took my son from a predicted grade C to an achieved A* in A level English. Jess was patient and attentive to my son’s requests and her knowledge of the AQA exam board was both evident not only due to her A* achieved grade but also through my observations of her teaching. Her methodology of teaching mirrored her own ways of revising when she was my son’s age and it clearly payed off for the both of them. I can’t recommend her enough and I’m so glad we got her when we did. She was able to take my son through what he struggled on with the most whilst being mindful to not miss out on any of the other major topics. My son had originally picked it because he got a 7 in his gcse and took it for a “filler subject” alongside sociology and psychology. To all of our shock it was his highest achieved grade out of the 3. Perhaps if Jess tutored him psychology and sociology he would have achieved 3A* across the board. Amazing tutor !!
