Hello . I am a private one to one tutor who would like to offer my expertise teaching children maths. I target children doing their SATs and also GCSE students. I am young but eager and looking to improve the grades of a young children doing their. I study maths A Level and achieved an A* in GCSE maths so I am familiar with the system and how to achieve the top grades. I have mentored GCSE students in maths, english and geography so I am also open to tutoring those subjects. With the programme, I will find the best free resources so there is no extra cost within and so that outside of lessons the student can practice freely. My approach is to initially give the student a test to carry out so that I can reach a conclusion on which topics they excel in and which topics they struggle in. After that first session, I will go fully in depth, topic by topic, and properly teach them the different methods until they find a method that suits them. In schools, teachers tend to teach topics to the level where students know how to do it but don’t understand why they are doing it. I will ensure that my student has a basic understanding of what they’re doing to make it easier for them. Hopefully we’ll cover a subtopic/topic per lesson but if the student needs longer there’s no rush. Every two weeks I will set a test whether that is found online or I have created it myself to target specific areas to ensure that this knowledge has been put in place and stays there. Let’s aim for these high grades! My rate is £15 - £20/hr.
