Jessica Monteiro Jesus Monteiro

I am a passionate, caring and dedicated tutor who enjoys helping children develop confidence in their learning and reach their full potential. I have a Master’s degree in Special Education, alongside experience working in an international environment in Singapore. My academic background and practical experience have given me a strong understanding of how children learn differently and the importance of adapting teaching approaches to meet each child’s individual needs.
I have also completed studies and training in Early Years education, as well as training in a variety of phonics programmes commonly used by children in the UK. This has helped me develop a good understanding of early reading, phonics, spelling and writing development. I enjoy creating engaging and supportive lessons where children feel comfortable making mistakes, asking questions and building their confidence.

What I enjoy most about tutoring is helping children who may initially feel that they do not enjoy writing, spelling or phonics. I find it incredibly rewarding to help them overcome those barriers and discover that learning can be enjoyable and achievable. By using encouragement, patience and activities suited to their interests and learning style, I aim to turn frustration into confidence.

My ultimate goal is not only to help children improve academically, but also to develop a genuine love of reading and writing. Seeing a child become more confident, enthusiastic and proud of their progress is what motivates me as a tutor.
