I am Jessica, nice to meet you!
I currently work as a Research Associate at Imperial College London, where I am involved in clinical research and laboratory-based projects. I completed a PhD in Experimental Medicine and previously graduated with distinction in Medical Biotechnology.
My teaching combines clear explanations of theory with practical insight from real laboratory experience. I have worked extensively with techniques such as flow cytometry, viability assays, and biomarker analysis, and I have processed human samples within clinical trials. This allows me to explain not only what happens at the cellular and molecular level, but also how scientists study these mechanisms in practice.
I have supervised MSc students in immunology and cancer-related projects, supporting them in experimental design, data analysis, and thesis preparation. I understand the challenges students face and aim to make complex topics more approachable and logical.
As a tutor, I focus on building strong foundations, critical thinking, and confidence. My goal is to help students truly understand biology, not just memorise it, and to guide them step by step towards academic success.
My passion for biology has always been driven by a deep curiosity about how life works. I see biology as the key to understanding health, disease, and the complex balance that allows organisms to function. Exploring cellular mechanisms means exploring the foundations of life itself. I love sharing this perspective with students, helping them see biology not as a subject to memorise, but as a powerful way to understand the living world around us.
