Hello! I am an English tutor, born and raised in the United States, and I currently live in Madrid, Spain. I’ve been teaching for over 10 years and have taught a variety of subjects to all ages, from math to writing. While I have experience teaching students from 6 years old to adults, I currently focus on children and teens as an ESL tutor, helping them overcome the self-consciousness that often comes with speaking a second language.

My lessons focus on English reading, writing, and conversation, and I use interactive activities, guided discussions, games, and reading exercises to make learning both engaging and effective.

My approach is adaptive and student-centered. If one method isn’t working, I adjust until I find what clicks for the student. We also set language learning goals together, which allows me to personalize lessons and track progress. Seeing tangible improvement is one of the best ways to stay motivated.

Each lesson emphasizes three core goals:

1. Active learning – Students engage through speaking, writing, and problem-solving rather than passive listening.

2. Improved study strategies – Even small adjustments can help students make their approach more effective.

3. Confidence – I help students develop a growth mindset, recognize their progress, and build the courage to speak, write, and explore English without fear of mistakes.

I especially enjoy helping students see themselves as capable writers and speakers, turning subjects that once felt overwhelming into achievable challenges. My favorite part is witnessing their confidence grow—that moment when a student says, “I did it!” makes every lesson rewarding.
