I am a fully qualified and practising primary and ESOL teacher with four years’ experience.
Students and colleagues alike tell me that my best qualities as a teacher are my patience to understand things from the learner’s perspective, and my sense of fun, finding creative ways to keep learners engaged. What really drives me is getting to know my learners’ unique interests and goals, then adapting my teaching strategies to their perspective and motivations.
Beyond my classroom experience, I have a further 6 years’ experience in roles where I have devised and delivered tailored one-to-one and group training sessions both online and in-person. Having worked with learners of all ages from diverse backgrounds, I have honed my capacity to adapt sessions, using technology to enhance accessible learning and support people to reach their full potential.
I have a very broad area of expertise and can very easily adapt my techniques to suit the way you learn. I find great value in helping learners by using authentic resources like books, brochures, films and music to give you both the language and cultural context that will support you to be fully immersed in the English language as it is actually used by native speakers. I also find learners do best when they get the chance to practice their skills rather than just receive lots of information, so I make sure there is always plenty of time for you to speak and for me to give helpful feedback as we go.
At the heart of my approach to teaching is the belief that everyone deserves to reach their potential, and my favourite part of teaching is always getting to understand what it is that makes you want to learn so you can find the most success possible.
