My lessons are friendly, interactive and tailored to each student’s individual needs, goals and learning style. I believe that students learn best when they feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes and exploring ideas without pressure. My aim is beyond simply providing answers, instead it is to help students develop the confidence and skills to understand a subject independently. As a PhD researcher specialising in Science Communication, I have extensive experience working with complex academic ideas, research, critical thinking, writing and communicating information clearly to different audiences. I use this experience to make challenging concepts easier to understand and to help students approach their work in a structured and manageable way.

At the beginning of our lessons, we will discuss what you would like to achieve and identify any areas where you need additional support. Lessons can then be adapted around your goals. Depending on your needs, we might work on academic writing, essay structure, research skills, critical thinking, presentations, science communication, understanding academic literature, or improving the clarity of your written work. My lessons are practical rather than lecture-based. We can work through examples together, discuss ideas, break difficult tasks into smaller steps and practise applying what you have learned. I encourage students to ask questions throughout the session, and I explain concepts in different ways until they make sense.

For university students, I can also help develop broader academic skills such as planning assignments, constructing arguments, critically evaluating sources, understanding feedback and communicating research effectively. Rather than simply correcting a piece of work, I focus on explaining why something could be improved so that you can apply the same skills to future assignments. Online lessons are relaxed but structured, with clear objectives for each session. Whether you are looking for ongoing academic support or help developing a particular skill, I will adapt our lessons to your level, interests and goals.

Most importantly, I want students to leave each lesson feeling more confident, capable and clear about what to do next.
