Lessons will take place online via Google Meet and will be tailored to the individual needs of each pupil.
We will begin with a short baseline diagnostic assessment to identify strengths, gaps in knowledge and any areas where confidence may be affecting progress. From this, I will plan personalised sessions focused on the areas that will make the greatest difference for that individual pupil.
Lessons will use a range of KS2 SATs resources, including past SATs questions and papers, alongside targeted teaching activities. Sessions will usually include clear explanation and modelling, guided practice and opportunities for pupils to apply what they have learned independently.
I will also teach practical SATs strategies, such as how to break down multi-step maths problems, identify what a reading question is really asking, select evidence effectively and approach different question types with confidence.
Where appropriate, pupils will be given short independent tasks to complete between sessions. These will reinforce the learning covered, encourage independence and help me identify what needs to be revisited or developed further.
Progress will be reviewed regularly so that sessions can adapt as the pupil develops. If a particular area becomes secure, we will move on; if something needs more time, we will revisit it in a different way.
My aim is not simply to work through test papers, but to build secure knowledge, effective strategies and confidence so that pupils feel prepared, capable and calm when approaching their KS2 SATs and understand exactly what examiners are looking for in answers.
