Jaya Kaur Mahil

I achieved an A in A-Level Business and am currently studying Environment, Economics and Ecology at the University of York. I also have experience mentoring Year 12 Business students, which helped me develop my ability to explain concepts clearly and support others with their learning.

My teaching approach:

I believe everyone learns differently, so I aim to make my lessons friendly, supportive and tailored to each student's needs. Whether you're struggling with a particular topic, catching up with the specification or aiming for a higher grade, I'll adapt my approach to suit your goals and learning pace.

What my lessons look like:

Lessons can include breaking down challenging business concepts into simple explanations, reviewing key theories, creating revision notes and practising exam-style questions. I can also help you develop your case study application, analysis and evaluation skills, which are essential for achieving higher marks in A-Level Business.

I understand that memorising content is only part of exam preparation. Knowing how to apply business knowledge to a particular context and structure a well-developed answer is equally important. I'll help you practise these skills step by step, explaining how to improve your answers and identify areas for development.

My aim:

I want you to feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes and learning at your own pace. My lessons will be encouraging and interactive, with opportunities to revisit difficult topics and build on what you already know.
