Hi! I'm Javier, a native Spanish speaker from Cantabria, in northern Spain, and a recent Psychology graduate. For the last two years I've worked at my university's student support office, designing and running workshops on study techniques, motivation and stress management — so I already have real, hands-on experience explaining things clearly and keeping people motivated, which I now bring into my Spanish lessons.
My classes are built around real conversation from the very first session. I believe you learn a language by actually using it, not just memorising rules, so we'll spend most of our time speaking, with grammar and vocabulary introduced naturally as we go and always explained with clear, memorable examples.
Before we start, I like to understand exactly what you need: are you a complete beginner, brushing up on rusty Spanish, preparing for an exam, or learning for a trip or work? I adapt every lesson to that goal rather than following a rigid textbook. If you're nervous about speaking, that's completely normal — my psychology background helps here too, since I focus on building your confidence first, in a relaxed, pressure-free environment where mistakes are just part of learning.
Each lesson mixes spoken practice with a bit of structured grammar or vocabulary, plus a short recap so things actually stick. I'll also suggest things to practise between sessions, at a pace that fits your life.
Whether you want to go from zero to your first real conversation, or take an intermediate level to fluency, I'd genuinely love to help you get there.
