I have taught English language and literature in Sussex and Kent secondary schools for 14 years, alongside working as a private tutor. I am DBS checked and happy to work with students online or in person. I offer tuition at KS3, GCSE, iGCSE and A Level.

I take a friendly, fun and supportive approach to helping students increase their confidence and ability in English. Lessons are personalised and differentiated, according to the learning style and requirements of each student (I have experience of working with a range of SEN needs in school).

Sessions tend to start with reviewing previous learning and addressing any issues or questions that might have come up in the subject over the preceding days. They are likely to include a mix of discussion, revision, independent work on specific tasks, thinking time and consolidation.

If agreed, I like to set a small amount of homework that I can go through with students in subsequent meetings. I also provide additional resources and reading materials, where needed.
