Jane Cavill

Hi, I'm Jane and I have been teaching languages since 2008, first as an ESOL (English) teacher in college and university and then as a private tutor of ESOL, French and Spanish. My lessons are relaxed but effective, so you will enjoy and improve at the same time. I tailor lessons to the needs and wishes of the individual. This builds confidence and competence, whether it be for exams or leisure. I use a variety of resources to improve skills in speaking, listening, reading and writing. I build grammar in at a pace to suit the student, as it is important for making progress. The main aim is to communicate confidently. I have degrees in Linguistics and Spanish, with an additional conversion course to teach French. I am a qualified teacher for any age (QTLS) and hold an enhanced DBS certificate. I have been tutoring privately for over ten years, successfully supporting GCSE and adult students. One to one is a really good way to improve, as we can spend as little or as much time as is needed on each task or topic. So if a student struggles, or excels in a particular area, we can build this in to lesson goals. My GCSE students have been happy with progress and grades, and some of my adults have gone to live in France and Spain.
