Hi, my name is James and I have been playing guitar for 14 years. I want to not only teach people guitar but to teach them the songs that they want to learn. I want to help people progress in their guitar ability but in a way which is tailored to them, not a cookie cutter format. I want to really get to know the student and their initial ability and build from there.

I'm very happy to take students who are complete beginners and want to learn the basics of guitar, to intermediate students who want to master harder techniques and really want to push their ability.

As someone who did lessons for many years, I always struggled with learning songs I had no interest in playing, which hindered my progress. With my lessons, it would be tailored to the student and their musical tastes and what they want to learn. I have a very varied taste in music so I am comfortable teaching almost all genres of music that contain guitars, from flamenco guitar all the way to progressive metal and thrash metal.

I will send students away after my lessons with structured practice guides and sheet music to ensure that they are progressing outside of lesson time. This coupled with a lesson a week would ensure that students not only progress but progress with correct techniques.
