I am a Chemistry Master's graduate and currently pursuing a PhD in Chemistry, with a passion for helping students build genuine understanding and confidence in their studies. I offer tutoring in Chemistry, Mathematics, and Physics, teaching students from KS2 through to university level in Chemistry.
My teaching approach focuses on developing a strong grasp of fundamental concepts rather than simply memorising methods to pass exams. I believe that when students understand the underlying principles of a subject and develop their critical thinking skills, they become capable of tackling a wide range of problems independently, both within and beyond their studies.
I aim to create a supportive and engaging learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and exploring ideas. As a tutor, I place great importance on listening carefully to each student and adapting my teaching style to suit their individual needs. Whether a student learns best through visual explanations, practical examples, discussion, or structured problem-solving, I tailor lessons accordingly.
My lessons typically incorporate a mixture of textbook exercises, exam-style questions, and past paper practice where appropriate. I also encourage students to create and explore their own questions, helping them develop a deeper understanding of the subject matter. When explaining challenging concepts, I often use relatable analogies and examples that connect the material to the student's existing knowledge and interests.
To support long-term progress, I maintain a learner profile that helps identify and track strengths, areas for development, and effective learning strategies. Depending on the student's goals and preferences, I may also suggest independent study tasks between sessions to reinforce learning.
Above all, I want my students to leave lessons with greater confidence, curiosity, and a positive attitude towards learning, empowering them to approach new challenges with independence and enthusiasm.
