My lessons are clear, structured, and tailored to each student’s needs. At the start, I identify what the student wants to improve, whether this is understanding psychological theories, preparing for exams, planning essays, improving academic writing, or developing a dissertation or research project. I also try to understand the student’s course requirements, assessment brief, and current level of confidence so that the lesson is practical and focused.

A typical lesson may include discussion of key concepts, explanation of difficult theories, review of assignment questions, essay planning, feedback on written work, or support with research methods. I place particular emphasis on helping students move beyond description and develop stronger critical analysis, as this is often the area where marks can be improved most. This includes helping students compare theories, evaluate evidence, and build a clear academic argument.Lessons are interactive and supportive. I encourage students to ask questions, test ideas, and develop confidence in their own academic thinking. I use examples from psychology, research, and everyday life to make complex material easier to understand. I also give practical guidance on structure, clarity, referencing, and how to respond to tutor feedback.

My aim is to help students become more confident, independent, and effective learners. Psychology requires knowledge, evidence, argument, and clear writing. My lessons are designed to help students bring these skills together in a practical and manageable way.
