My Approach to Teaching Italian
As an Italian tutor, my goal is to make learning Italian simple, enjoyable, and practical. I adapt each private lesson to the student’s age, level, learning style, and personal goals. I work with both children and adults, from complete beginners to students who already have some knowledge of Italian and would like to improve.
For Beginners
We will start by building a strong foundation in the language. Lessons will include:
Basic vocabulary and everyday expressions
Greetings and introductions
Numbers, days, months, colors, food, family, and other useful topics
Pronunciation and listening
Simple grammar and sentence structure
Basic conversations and question-and-answer exercises
I believe students should start speaking from the beginning, even with simple sentences. We will use practical situations, repetition, games, short exercises, and conversation to make the language easier to remember.
For Children ??
With younger students, lessons will be more interactive and playful. I will use games, pictures, stories, songs, role-playing, and simple activities to introduce Italian naturally and keep them engaged. The focus will be on helping them become comfortable hearing and speaking Italian without making lessons feel too formal or difficult.
Moving to the Next Level
As the student becomes more confident, we will gradually introduce:
More advanced vocabulary
Verb conjugations and grammar
Longer conversations
Reading and comprehension
Writing short texts and messages
Listening exercises
Everyday Italian expressions
Italian culture and real-life situations
For more advanced students, lessons can focus more heavily on conversation, fluency, pronunciation, grammar correction, and expanding vocabulary.
My aim is not only to teach grammar and vocabulary, but to help each student feel comfortable and confident using Italian in real situations. Lessons will progress at the student’s own pace, with plenty of practice, encouragement, and personalized activities.
