Jacob Bell

I am currently a third year undergraduate student at Lancaster University studying Natural Sciences BSc with a focus on pure mathematics. I am on track to receive a first class degree and have received numerous offers to study a Master's in pure mathematics from some of the top universities across the country.
I have a strong knowledge of the subject content for GCSE and A-level maths and further maths for Edexcel, OCR, and AQA exam boards, in addition to first and second year undergraduate pure maths. I have experience tutoring GCSE maths and A-level further maths, alongside volunteer mentoring for undergraduate maths.
My style of teaching uses a blend of spaced repetition and strong communication with students to optimise learning, and a heavy focus on exam practice and reaching realistic goals comfortably. I will keep track of progress for each topic and will generate unique lesson plans each week depending on requested topics and areas I believe require improvements. I also accommodate for any level of learning to ensure students don't waste time and energy on aspects that don't matter to them. However I expect students to fully engage in sessions no matter what to gurantee success, and I will try my very best to find the best pathway to this.
My aim with each student is to find the best way to help the student achieve their goals and to push them beyond the heights they think they can reach. With the right attitude and right teacher, I believe every student is capable of reaching the highest grades.
