Jackson Joy

I have both a Computer Science GCSE (Grade 8) as well as 7 years of experience in Roblox Studio + Luau, 5 years in Python, and 1 year in both Java Minecraft plugin development and C# Unity games development. I'm very passionate about Computer Science and Games Development, and am currently learning Games Development at college.

My lessons are entirely student-led, each session will be adapted to their needs and I will put the focus on writing actual code and solving problems practically. I believe that the best way to learn Computer Science is by doing, I will break down complex problems in programming into manageable chunks. Having recently excelled in the GCSE myself, I have all the knowledge fresh in my mind, I know what examiners are looking for and common issues that students may have, as well as connections to other previous students who may be able to shed some light on issues or misconceptions I wasn't aware of.

As a tutor, my goal is to encourage students to go beyond the specification and lean into areas that they genuinely care about. When I was taking the GCSE, there was so much more that I wanted to be taught and ended up having to teach myself. I don't want other students to have to teach themselves a topic that they'd rather learn with the help of someone else. I am dedicated to making every concept a student needs or wants to learn both clear and approachable to them.
