I offer personalised maths lessons online through Zoom or in person at my home, with each session tailored to the student’s needs, confidence and pace of learning. My aim is to make maths feel more approachable and help students understand how and why a method works, so they can use it confidently themselves.

For younger children, I use colourful slides, clear visual examples and interactive activities to make learning enjoyable and easier to remember. I break topics down into small, manageable steps and connect maths to familiar, everyday situations. Lessons will include opportunities to practise, ask questions and celebrate progress, helping children build a strong foundation while developing a positive attitude towards maths.

For older students, I focus on identifying the topics and specific steps they find difficult. We will work through examples together, explore the reasoning behind each method and practise applying it to different types of questions. This helps students move beyond simply memorising equations: they can learn to recognise when a method is useful and adapt it when a problem looks unfamiliar.

A typical session will begin with a short check-in or recap, followed by a focused explanation, guided practice and questions for the student to try independently. I will adjust the level of support as we go, revisiting anything that needs more explanation and introducing further challenges when they are ready.

I want students to feel comfortable saying, “I don’t understand yet.” My approach is patient and encouraging, with space to make mistakes and learn from them. Whether the goal is support with schoolwork, strengthening core skills or tackling more challenging questions, each lesson will have a clear focus on building understanding, confidence and independence.
