Hello! I’m Islamiyah, a qualified educator and Mathematics tutor with a B.Ed. in Educational Management from the University of Ibadan, specialising in Mathematics.

I provide personalised 1:1 online lessons for children aged 5–13.

My approach is simple: I want every child to understand what they are learning, not simply memorise answers. I break difficult concepts into smaller, manageable steps and use clear explanations, practical examples, guided practice and interactive activities to make lessons engaging and easier to understand.

Before focusing on a particular area, I take time to understand the learner’s current level, strengths and areas that need improvement. This helps me tailor lessons to the child rather than using exactly the same approach for everyone.

My Mathematics lessons can cover areas such as number work, arithmetic, fractions, decimals, percentages, algebra, geometry, word problems and other age-appropriate topics.

For younger learners, I keep lessons engaging and age-appropriate. For older learners, I focus on building understanding, accuracy, problem-solving skills and confidence.

I also encourage children to ask questions and make mistakes without feeling embarrassed. I believe mistakes are part of learning, and a child should feel comfortable saying, “I don’t understand yet.”

My goal is not just to help a child get the right answer, but to help them understand why the answer is right and become more confident in solving problems independently.
