Over the past year, I’ve had to design my own lessons to tutor GCSE biology which required organization, motivation and a secure understanding of the specification and marking criteria. Combined with the current content within my degree, I have a strong foundation in biology and am well equipped with knowledge beyond GCSE and A Level.

I have had success in the past with students achieving their target grades of 8/9 at GCSE biology from a predicted 5s. My lessons involve a combination of two key features:

- Explanation of specification points in an easily digestible manner to develop understanding
- Testing this understanding by carefully selected past paper questions which I go through in the lesson to allow students to learn the rationale behind the marking.


These skills mean that I am experienced in supporting students who are struggling in their subjects and understanding the content as well as students who struggle to perform well in exams. Ultimately, I appreciate the demands and necessary skills tutoring requires especially being able to adapt my teaching style to different students so you not only achieve their target grade, but also gain more confidence in your subject.

Due to the nature of my studies, I am flexible in my schedule and am able to conveniently organise time to plan and deliver my lessons. I am also able to mark practice attempts at long answer questions outside of lesson hours to provide the extra support in improving exam technique; all of which is geared to improve your grades!
