I'm a Mathematics undergraduate at the University of Warwick, currently going into my second year after a strong first-year result. Maths is something I've always found genuinely interesting, and I want to pass that on rather than just help students get through exams.

My teaching style is built around understanding things from first principles. Instead of memorising a set of steps for a specific type of question, we work through why a method actually works. In practice this means you end up needing to remember far less, because the logic behind a technique makes it easier to reconstruct and apply to questions you haven't seen before, including trickier or unusually worded exam questions.

Lessons are one-to-one and structured around what you actually need. If you're working through the syllabus, we'll go topic by topic, building up confidence with plenty of practice questions along the way. If you're revising for exams, we'll focus on the areas where you're weakest, working through past paper questions and breaking down where marks are commonly lost. If you're aiming for the highest grades, we can go beyond the syllabus into harder problems that build a deeper level of mathematical maturity.

I'm comfortable teaching GCSE maths as well as A-Level topics including pure maths, mechanics, and statistics. I try to keep sessions interactive rather than just talking at you: I'll ask you to explain your reasoning back to me, and I'm always happy to slow down and go over something again if it hasn't clicked yet.

I have informal one-to-one tutoring experience, and alongside that, customer-facing work that's helped me get better at explaining things clearly and adapting to different people.
