My history lessons employ a mostly conversational approach. I'll identify key areas the student is struggling with and together we will discuss topics until i feel like the student has a confident understanding of the key historical events and context surrounding the topic. In order to assess student understanding I will bring a range of historical sources for us to analyse together, finishing the lesson by doing a quick writing exercise to prepare students for the types of essay questions they might encounter in exams. With 1-on-1 guidance my students will become pros on critical thinking and critical analysis, core skill needed to excel on the study of history!
