I am a recent History graduate from Bournemouth University (BA Hons, 2:1, 2025) with a strong academic background and a passion for making the subject engaging and accessible for students. At GCSE I achieved a grade 8 in History and a B at A-Level, before going on to specialise at university. My main focus was Modern History after 1945, and I am particularly confident in teaching topics such as the Cold War, Nazism, and Post-War Britain. That said, I am able to cover the full KS3 and GCSE History curriculum.
I have practical experience supporting students through my time as a Teaching Assistant in a secondary school, where I worked with both small groups and full classes. Alongside this, I have experience as a youth coach for Nike, where I developed strong communication skills and learned how to encourage and motivate young learners.
My lessons are structured to be interactive and tailored to individual needs. I focus on building understanding through clear explanations, guided practice, and regular feedback, while also supporting students with essay writing, exam preparation, and source analysis. I am a strong advocate for the importance of recall in learning, something that supported me massively through my GCSE’s and A-levels, so this will be integrated into each lesson.
The majority of my lessons will be focused around introducing a topic the student is familiar with, working alongside them to develop deeper understanding and completing the lesson with fun recall activities to enhance their understanding. I’m more than happy to supply past papers and mark these for GCSE tailored feedback.
All lessons are delivered online, at £15 per hour, with a free 30-minute trial lesson available for new students. Lessons can be a minimum of 30 minutes and a max of 2 hours 30 minutes. I am available Monday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings for tutoring.
