My lessons are interactive and encourage the students' participation. I incorporate methods for gaining a deep understanding of the theory before moving on to practice. The use of worked examples, solved step-by-step, helps the student understand how knowledge is applied to practice. The student will also have the chance to consolidate their knowledge by attempting real exam-style questions of varying complexity, which is the best way of preparation for the exam. Science subjects can be challenging, but I aim to help students develop strategies for breaking down problems into simpler parts and using their existing knowledge to reach the answer.
As a medical student who achieved top grades in all science subjects and using my year's experience as a chemistry tutor, I can adapt the techniques I developed myself according to the student's understanding and level. I find it very important to get to know my students, get a feel of their academic background and understand what their goals are, so that we can come to an agreement regarding what is most important for them to achieve throughout my lessons, whether this is clarifying the theory, strengthening exam technique, getting more exam-like practice or building confidence. Together, we can develop smart and realistic goals and make exam preparation less stressful and more manageable.
I am committed to creating a supportive and encouraging learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and progressing at their own pace. My goal is not only to help students achieve excellent results, but to help them turn hard work into confidence and confidence into success.
