My lessons are designed to be engaging, supportive and tailored to each child’s individual learning needs. As a qualified primary school teacher with a BA (Hons) in Primary Education with QTS, I have a strong understanding of the primary maths curriculum and how children develop their mathematical knowledge and skills.

I begin by identifying the child’s current strengths and areas for improvement so that lessons are suited to their ability and learning goals. I use clear explanations, worked examples and step-by-step modelling to break down challenging concepts into manageable stages. I encourage children to practise independently while providing guidance and feedback whenever needed.

My teaching approach focuses on developing a secure understanding of mathematical concepts rather than simply memorising methods. Lessons can cover key areas such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, decimals, percentages, times tables and problem-solving, depending on the child’s age and needs. I can also support children preparing for SATs by helping them practise exam-style questions and develop their confidence in applying their knowledge.

I believe every child can make progress when they receive the right support and encouragement. I aim to create a positive environment where children feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes and learning at their own pace. I celebrate progress, build confidence and help pupils become more independent learners.

My goal is to make maths easier to understand, enjoyable to learn and less intimidating for children who may struggle with the subject. I want every pupil to finish each lesson feeling more confident in their abilities and proud of what they have achieved.
