Hello! I am a 17 year old sixth form student looking to work full time. I major in sociology but English has always been my great passion (it wasn’t an option at my school). With my potential 11+ students I would cover 4 sections that the paper includes: comprehension, spelling, grammar and capital letter/punctuation. Alongside this I would provide creative writing sessions and essays with pictures, as well as expanding on vocabulary. I should hope to improve on children’s overall reading pace and quality, so their pronunciation is clear and precise. To keep it entertaining, I would include a weekly game, whether it be vocabulary or creative thinking, to go over what was learnt in the week. Lessons will be structured around different days of the week. For example, Mondays for spelling, Tuesdays for creative writing, Thursdays for comprehension etc. Tests will be carried out every 2 weeks on the child’s current knowledge level and how much they have improved in that time. I will provide the children with short independent homework questions to go over the next session. Extracts will be taken from popular books to introduce children to exciting new book worlds and grow a love for it. Lessons will be provided from an easy range and gradually increase as the child begins to feel more confident and can answer questions and develop creative writing easily. All students will be taught at separate paces and not moved forward until not only I, but they have full faith in themselves to move forward. My key principle is VALUE FOR MONEY!
