With a Graphic Design degree and years of painting under my belt, I know my way around color, composition, and technique but more importantly, I know how to teach it without overwhelming you. I work mainly with oil and gouache, and my personal style leans toward florals, botanicals, chinoiserie, and impressionism. That said, I'm here to help you find your style, not mine.
I've taught 10-week group courses for beginners, guiding adults through the basics from mixing colors to layering and composition, and I've also run watercolor workshops for older adults. So whether you're 18 or 80, picking up a brush for the first time or dusting one off, I've got a pretty good sense of how to meet you where you're at.
My teaching style is patient, practical, and hands-on. I break things down step by step, paint alongside you, and give feedback that actually makes sense. No jargon, no rushing just honest guidance and a bit of encouragement. I tailor each lesson to what you want to get out of it, whether that's nailing the fundamentals, trying out a specific style, or just having fun with paint.
At the end of the day, I genuinely love what I do, and I love seeing that little spark when something clicks for a student. If that sounds like your kind of vibe, I'd be happy to have you.
