I like to make things simple, clear and relevant, so as my student, you are almost in charge. We look at why they want/need to improve their English, we look at what your interests are, or perhaps the company or industry you will use English in most and then we find activities that work best. Obviously, I might use 'standard' materials for exercises that help with grammar, reading comprehension, writing etc, but where I can, I will make even these materials more relevant to make sure the learning process is optimised. My motto is that if studying or working on your English isn't fun, what is the point of coming back.

I have worked as a teacher of English in a secondary school, teaching pupils between 11 and 20 years of age, and have a certificate in teaching adults English as a second language. As a teacher, I have tried finding additional materials to make the lessons more fun and interesting, so if you want to start from the books you use at school, a course or books you have used in the past, that is fine too!

I am quite flexible in lesson planning, both in length of lessons and time of day. The whole idea is to work with you and help you improve your English in a way that suits you best.
