Inesa Sihuta

Hello, and thank you for visiting my profile! I’m a Mandarin tutor offering friendly, structured one-to-one lessons online for learners of all ages, from complete beginners to HSK exam preparation.

I learned Mandarin the way my students do. After passing the HSK, I was awarded a scholarship to study at Ningbo University in China, where I completed my degree in 2018. Living and studying there taught me not only the language but also how it’s really used day to day, and I bring that into every lesson. I speak English and I’m fluent in Russian and Ukrainian, so I’m especially happy to help learners from Ukrainian- and Russian-speaking backgrounds, and I’ll always explain things as simply and patiently as needed.
My lessons are relaxed but well organised. We start with pronunciation and tones from the very first session, because getting them right early makes everything else easier. Then we build vocabulary and characters step by step and spend plenty of time actually speaking. I use interactive materials during our video calls, so lessons stay engaging, and I adapt the plan to your goals, whether that’s passing an HSK exam, supporting school studies, preparing for travel or work, or simply enjoying the language.
I’ve also worked in China-UK trade and sourcing, so I can bring real business context to lessons for adults and professionals who need Mandarin for work.
I hold a Safeguarding Children and Vulnerable Adults certificate, and I take learners’ wellbeing seriously.
If you’d like to try a first lesson, send me a message with your level and what you want to achieve, and I’ll put together a plan for you.
