I have played guitar for 10 years and I am now preparing for my grade 7 exam. I have played in my town's theatre's foyer, in concerts, and in competitions as a soloist and duettist. I won my local rotary club competition as a soloist and won my town's family category and the year before the duet category as a duettist. My style of guitar involves understanding chords and rhythm along side studying pieces which use a plectrum or fingerstyle method. Whilst completing grades is not mandatory, if you would like to progress through grades I can aid in this up to grade 4. I am also open to you suggesting what you would like to learn so I can assist you in reaching your goals. Any age is welcome as it is never too late to start learning guitar. As a beginner, you would learn to correctly hold the guitar and understand finger positioning on the fret board as well as the names of the different parts of the guitar. You would also learn how to tune and restring your guitar so that you can comfortably practice outside of lessons. I can offer tutoring online or in-person but I cannot offer facilities for in-person lessons to take place. I can also offer one-to-one lessons and group lessons but group lessons would have to take place in-person due to technology restrictions making it difficult to play together clearly on-line. Please contact me to request my availability or to ask any further questions you have.
