I am currently studying Psychology at the University of East Anglia. At college, I achieved a Distinction* in Psychology and also studied Criminology, Medical Science, and Biology, achieving a B in each subject. This background gives me a broad understanding of psychology and related scientific topics, with biopsychosocial psychology being my 'strong point'.
My aim is to create a friendly and encouraging learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and developing their confidence.
My first session will be for myself and the student to gain an understanding of how we learn and teach best, for me to understand their revision styles and their weak points of the subject and for them to develop a sense of trust and for them to explain to me the areas in which they need more attention.
Lessons may include:
- Working through a range of exam-style questions
- Guided walkthroughs of mock exams and past papers
- Marking answers together to understand the mark scheme and examiner expectations
- Identifying strengths, knowledge gaps, and areas for improvement
- Improving exam technique, including how to structure answers and use psychological terminology
- Dedicated time at the end of each lesson for students to ask questions or revisit difficult topics
My teaching will work entirely around the student as the right study routine is key to achieving those targeted grades. Feel free to email me if you find that you have a question outside of our tutoring sessions and I will respond within 24 hours.
