I aim to make lessons engaging, clear and tailored for each of my students. While I am still a student myself, I have extensive experience studying Mathematics and Further Mathematics at a high level, giving me a strong understanding of the challenges students can face when learning difficult topics. I have achieved top grades in every maths exam I have sat in both Scotland and England. I would be able to tailor my lessons to either curriculum.

I am patient and encouraging, and I understand that students can sometimes feel frustrated or lack confidence when approaching maths. I aim to create a relaxed environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes. I believe that understanding the method and reasoning behind a question is much more valuable than simply memorising an answer.

Lessons can be adapted depending on the student's needs. For students who are struggling with a particular topic, I can provide focused lessons that break the topic down into simpler steps before progressing to more challenging questions. I can also offer exam preparation, revision sessions, homework support and lessons designed to consolidate topics the student has already covered.

I would use clear and organised slides during lessons to explain key concepts, worked examples and important techniques. After explaining a topic, I will provide topic specific questions to allow the student to practise and consolidate what they have learned throughout the lesson which will then help me to identify areas that need further explanation and adjust the lesson accordingly. My overall aim is to make every lesson productive, interactive and suited to my student's individual goals!
