Ilayda Tuccaroglu

I have a BSc and MSc in Sociology, as well as a Postgraduate Certificate in Teaching and Learning in Higher Education. I have taught Health and Social Science for three years and have experience leading and teaching modules in research methods, sociology and wider social science topics. My academic specialisation is in migration and I am currently continuing my research in these areas through my PhD.

My approach to tutoring is student-centred. Through my teaching experience, I have seen that every student learns differently, so I aim to adapt each session to your needs, confidence level, and learning style. At the beginning, we can discuss what you are struggling with, what your goals are, and what kind of support would be most useful for you. From there, I will help organise a clear teaching plan so that our sessions feel focused, structured, and useful.

I can support students with understanding sociological theories, planning essays, structuring arguments, improving academic writing, and developing research projects. My aim is to make complex ideas feel clearer and more approachable, while helping you build confidence in your own academic skills.
