My teaching approach is firmly student-led, rooted in the belief that active engagement and discovery produce the most meaningful learning. While I am more than capable of delivering extended lectures, I find that students benefit far more from sessions that encourage participation, questioning, and real-world application. My aim is to create an environment where curiosity is sparked and understanding develops organically, supported by guided discussion and practical tasks that reinforce key concepts. For English GCSE I will put a significant focus on creative writing - looking at how to develop a narrative, how to interweave language devices and vocabulary into the students work which in turn leads to a better ability of recognising features in others work.

In terms of qualifications, I hold a BA (Hons) in English Literature and a PGCE in Further Education, ensuring both strong subject knowledge and professional teaching expertise. I have over seven years of formal teaching experience, working with a diverse range of learners across different levels and backgrounds. In addition, my prior work in corporate training and development has equipped me with valuable real-world insights, which I integrate into my teaching to make learning relevant and practical.

I typically recommend sessions lasting between one and one-and-a-half hours, as this allows sufficient time to explore ideas in depth while maintaining focus and energy. However, I am flexible and happy to adapt to individual needs and schedules.

Overall, I bring a balance of academic expertise, professional experience, and an engaging, student-focused approach to every session, ensuring learners feel supported, challenged, and inspired to succeed.
