Hernando Quintero Moreno Nando

Hello! My name is Hernando Quintero Moreno, and I’m a Spanish teacher for foreigners from Medellín, Colombia. I have over eight years of experience teaching Spanish, both in schools and independently, first in Colombia and now in Newcastle. My accent is clear and neutral, which makes it easy for learners to understand and imitate.

My classes are dynamic and focused on communication. I follow a simple 80/20 method: 20% grammar and 80% guided practice, because the main goal is to help students speak with confidence. I’m patient and I always adapt to the student’s pace — if something needs to be repeated, I’ll happily do it as many times as necessary.

We don’t waste class time doing “fill-in-the-blank” or similar mechanical exercises; students can complete those at home if they wish. During our sessions, we focus on speaking, pronunciation, and real-life situations.

I provide all materials and share Google Drive folders with each student so they can review everything we cover in class.

I also enjoy teaching common expressions, cultural aspects, and fun facts from the Spanish-speaking world. My students appreciate my positive energy and the relaxed, motivating atmosphere I create. Every lesson is productive, enjoyable, and designed around each learner’s personal goals.
