In my teaching I use a "show first, correct later" method, meaning I'll give you an example, let you try it yourself, and then correct your work and explain it afterwards. I find this effective because it gives the student an opportunity to test their own knowledge before getting feedback with the opportunity to ask any clarifying questions. My lessons are engaging and interactive with question and response content. I want to know you're paying attention and comprehending what I'm saying! This will help me better cater to your needs and focus on the areas where you would like some more help. I welcome questions and will explain concepts as many times as it takes to stick! I understand that sometimes it takes repetition or extra reminders for information to truly be comprehended. In my own experience, it has helped a lot to have a patient and kind tutor who is respectful and warm in their responses. For this reason I'm very conscious of uncertainty in students and will always respond in an appropriate and encouraging manner. I'll make sure you feel confident and self-assured in your abilities and by the time we finish our work together you'll be able to go forward with the knowledge and certainty that you're a capable and correct student. I have experience working with learning disabilities and will cater to these needs as required, meaning extra explanations, examples, and opportunities for interaction with the work provided. Patience and support are both extremely important in learning.
