Mathematics Lessons:
My math lessons are designed to spark curiosity and build confidence in young learners, combining hands-on exploration with critical thinking.

As a First-Class Maths BA graduate, I specialize in primary to middle school math, using manipulatives, visual models, and interactive games to make abstract concepts tangible. I tailor each lesson to students’ strengths and weaknesses, balancing structured practice with open-ended problem-solving challenges. To deepen understanding, I incorporate real-world examples (e.g., budgeting, geometry in architecture) and encourage logical reasoning through step-by-step analysis. For struggling students, I break down complex topics into manageable steps, while advanced learners tackle enrichment puzzles or prepare for math studies.

My experience tutoring in China has shown dramatic improvements - students have mastered multiplication through rhythm games, conquered fractions with visual aids, and gained confidence solving word problems. As a Mandarin A-certified educator, I design interactive sessions that build fluency through conversation, role-play, and multimedia resources. For beginners, I focus on practical vocabulary and pronunciation, while advanced learners engage in debates or analyze authentic texts.

I customize content based on goals: business professionals practice industry-specific dialogue, while children explore festivals or folktales through crafts and storytelling. To enhance cultural understanding, I include calligraphy workshops, etiquette discussions, or comparisons of Chinese and Western perspectives.

Online or in-person (Southampton), I leverage digital flashcards, interactive whiteboards, and conversation in-person tools to keep lessons engaging. I believe language learning is a bridge, and my lessons reflect this philosophy.
