I have over 18 years experience in teaching. My lessons are fun and interactive. I always find out more about each young person when I start teaching them, that is, their interests and hobbies and how they like to learn. My lessons are engaging because the activities are short, practical and hands on. I use a mixture of computer learning, written work, arts and creation alongside verbal communication and physical learning. Being physically active always helps our brains work in a more productive way.
The content of each lesson varies depending on the subject and age I am teaching. I have high expectations and believe everyone can achieve what they believe they can! I teach Key Stage One, Kaye Stage Two and Key Stage Three content. Every pupil I have worked with has said that their confidence is always boosted when they are learning with me. The progress that can be made one to one is astounding, and parents notably say that their children have come on leaps and bounds since working with me, not just academically but socially and in their levels of confidence too.
In schools I have led Computing, PSHE, mental well being, Geography and History. I am a level 4 qualified counsellor as well so have good ability to be a listening ear and support young people with their mental health. I believe that teaching is not just about giving out knowledge, it's about both parties gaining knowledge from each other and learning about this world together.
