Hayden Christian

I am a Chemical Engineering student with strong mathematical skills and experience applying mathematics to complex, real-world problems. My lessons are friendly, patient and tailored to each student’s individual needs, whether they are struggling with the basics, preparing for exams or aiming for the highest possible grades.

At the beginning of each lesson, I identify the topics the student finds most challenging and establish clear, achievable goals. We then work through concepts step by step, using simple examples before progressing to more difficult questions. I encourage students to ask questions and explain their reasoning, helping them develop genuine understanding rather than relying solely on memorisation.

Lessons include a combination of teaching, guided practice and independent questions. I provide support where needed while gradually encouraging students to work more independently and develop confidence in their problem-solving abilities.

We can also focus on GCSE exam technique, including interpreting questions correctly, showing clear working, managing time effectively and avoiding common mistakes. Practice questions can be tailored to the student’s exam board and areas requiring the most improvement.

I aim to create a relaxed and supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes and learning from them. My goal is not only to help students improve their grades but also to make mathematics feel more manageable, enjoyable and less intimidating.

Whether a student needs extra support to build confidence and strengthen their foundations or wants to push towards the highest grades, I will adapt lessons to help them achieve their individual goals.
