Harshita Srivastava

Hello! My name is Harshita, and I am a postgraduate with a strong academic background in both the life sciences and language teaching. I hold an MSc in Bioinformatics (Merit) from the University of Glasgow and an Integrated BSc+MSc in Biotechnology, which gives me a solid foundation in biology, genetics, microbiology, and related sciences. Alongside my research and academic work, I have experience as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at the University of Glasgow, where I taught and mentored students one-to-one and in small groups.

As a Biology tutor, I specialise in supporting school, college, and university students with topics such as cell biology, genetics, molecular biology, microbiology, and evolution. My lessons are designed to simplify complex concepts, break them into manageable steps, and encourage active learning through discussion and problem-solving. I aim to build students’ confidence as well as their subject knowledge, helping them achieve higher grades and develop an interest in science.

In addition, I am fluent in English and provide English as a Foreign Language tutoring. Having completed all of my education in English, from school to postgraduate studies, I use the language daily in both academic and professional contexts. My lessons are friendly, interactive, and tailored to the learner’s goals, whether it is improving conversational English, mastering grammar, or preparing for academic or professional use.

I am patient, approachable, and highly adaptable, ensuring that every lesson is suited to the learner’s needs. My goal is to make learning enjoyable and effective, whether in Biology or English.
