Hi! I’m Harry, an Economics student at Cardiff University with a strong background in Mathematics. I achieved a Grade 8 in GCSE Mathematics and went on to study Mathematics at A Level, giving me a solid understanding of both the fundamentals and more challenging mathematical concepts.
I now use mathematics regularly as part of my Economics degree, where I apply mathematical techniques to understand economic models, solve problems and analyse data. This has helped me develop a deeper understanding of not just how to solve a mathematical problem, but why the method works and where it can be applied.
My lessons are designed to be engaging, relaxed and tailored to each student. I believe that maths becomes much easier when you understand the reasoning behind a method rather than simply memorising steps. I’ll break down difficult topics into manageable parts, work through examples together and then give students the opportunity to apply what they have learned themselves.
I also want lessons to feel exciting rather than like another hour of school. I use real-world examples, problem-solving challenges and exam-style questions to show how maths can be applied outside the classroom. Where appropriate, I can also bring in examples from economics and everyday life to make topics more interesting and easier to relate to.
Whether you are looking to build confidence, strengthen your understanding of specific GCSE topics or prepare for exams, I will adapt lessons to your individual needs and pace. My aim is to create an environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes and gradually becoming more confident in their mathematical ability.
