Hello, my name is Emma! I love Biology and Maths and have recently completed my undergraduate degree, receiving a first-class honours degree in biology. Following this, I will be continuing my studies with a Master's degree in Applied Bioinformatics, combining my passion for biology and maths with data analysis and problem-solving.

I have strong experience in GCSE maths tutoring from my time of Here I received positive feedback every week from the parents of my students, and I was often told that their child was learning more with me than with their teachers at school.

I have a strong academic background, achieving Grade 9s in GCSE Biology, Chemistry and Maths, as well as a Grade 7 in Further Maths. At A Level, I achieved A grades in Biology, Chemistry and Maths, giving me a thorough understanding of these subjects and the skills needed to succeed in exams which I can apply to all my students.

Alongside my academic achievements, I have extensive experience working with children and young people through volunteering with Girlguiding and working in a nursery. These roles have helped me develop patience, adaptability and effective communication skills, allowing me to explain concepts clearly and build confidence in learners of all abilities.

My teaching style is friendly, supportive and tailored to each student's individual needs. Whether you're aiming to boost your grades, strengthen your understanding of key concepts, or build confidence in Biology and Maths GCSE or Biology A Level, I will work with you to create a positive learning environment where you can thrive.

My lessons will be specifically tailored to how my students learn best. The lessons will start with a quick catch up on what we covered the previous week, and then go onto me explaining a concept on the whiteboard to the student, letting them jump in with questions at any point. However, after the content has been explained my lessons will differ depending on the student.

Some students will learn better through methods such as using past paper questions, making mindmaps, or active recalling information from flashcards. However, these methods tend to be a bit dull for some students who need a bit more engagement. I find these types of students learn best through games. In these cases, I will design quizzes based on popular shows such as 'who wants to be a millionaire?' or make kahoots to try and keep my students engaged and learning. I used who wants to be a millionaire for my university exam revision when doing group study sessions, and we were all laughing and well engaged with the content. I think the best method to encourage learning is to make sure the student is in charge of it. If the methods I'm using don't engage them, it's not going to stay in their heads.

I look forward to hearing from you!
