I prefer my teaching to be interactive. I want to know how the student thinks and understands a concept or topic. This means I’ll regularly ask you questions and try to link different topics together wherever possible in order to boost your synoptic learning. I truly believe that this is the key to understanding science and maths to a high degree in school. I don’t want students to ever be shy or scared to ask questions or express problems they may have about the topic we are going through, if the question is in your head I’m here to answer it and tell you whether it’s important or not. My tutoring focuses on the student’s thought process and what steps we need to take to either better it or change it in a way that makes the content easily accessible from your memory, and understandable to a high degree where you can answer questions about it without needing the mark scheme or even prompts to help you. A large focus of my tutoring is the fundamental knowledge of a topic as you can not build on any of the content without knowing it thoroughly. I will try my best in every lesson to ensure you get the most of out my teaching and will always always ask you to explain things to me as I have seen students understand topics in a much faster time by recapping or reflecting what they have learnt towards the end of a lesson or section of the specification. I hope my tutoring can help you and I’m always available for extra support if you need assistance with PPQ’s or homework.
