I believe lessons should be engaging, structured, and enjoyable, while giving every student the confidence to progress at their own pace. Every lesson begins with a clear objective, so students know what they are working towards and can see what they have achieved by the end of the session.

I tailor every lesson to the individual, taking into account their age, ability, learning style, and musical goals. For younger children, I use games, creative activities, and interactive learning to keep lessons fun while building strong musical foundations. For older students and adults, lessons combine practical playing, demonstrations, guided discussion, listening activities, and music theory where appropriate, helping students develop both their technical skills and musical understanding.

I have experience teaching children and adults in schools, music education settings, and through private tuition, both in person and online. I have worked with students of varying abilities, including those with additional learning needs, and adapt my teaching approach to ensure everyone feels supported, challenged, and motivated.

My experience includes teaching instrumental music, music theory, ensemble playing, and classroom music, as well as preparing students for performances, exams, and competitions. I also create personalised learning resources, including sheet music, practice materials, listening playlists, and visual aids, to support students between lessons.
